Privacy Policy

Welcome to Mind Matters – Psychologist in Copenhagen.

In accordance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation for anyone who stores personal data and Danish legislation for psychologists, Mind Matters-Psychologist in Copenhagen follows the policy below:

Therapy notes:

As a psychologist, I am required to take and keep therapy notes to document the content of each therapy session. Therapy notes usually contain information on client's health or other relevant information as well as what has been specifically done in the session (e.g. exercises etc.).

Collection of personal data:

I will always inform you before collecting your personal information. I collect information that you share with me either by telephone, by mail or during a conversation in person.

I collect the following personal information:

  • CPR number
  • General information: e.g. name, address Information, email and phone number
  • Sensitive information: (health information, i.e. mental and physical disorders)

Data is collected solely for the purpose of providing treatment. The client's records are not shared with any other providers as per European and Danish confidentiality laws regarding the provision of psychological therapy. Data is used for treatment planning and provision and billing purposes only.

If requested, I am obliged to exchange your personal information with public authorities, but only in connection with my reporting obligations.

Confidentiality:

As a psychologist, I am bound by confidentiality. Psychologists are ethically bound to protect your privacy regardless of what information you choose to share with others. Our conversations will not be discussed with others and only I have access to your therapy notes. However, I must point out that I have an obligation to break this confidentiality if there is a risk of harm done to you or others.

Secure personal data handling and storage:

I have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to ensure an adequate level of safety. Physical records are in a locked file cabinet behind locked office doors. Sensitive Information is sent via encrypted emails. Any client-relating information needed to be stored on electronic devices, are only stored in a password locked folder, obtained and stored solely with the client's consent.

You have the right to access your therapy notes and get information about what information I keep about you.

According to the Order of the Act for Psychologists (No. 52 of 24/01/2018; § 14) and Executive Order on the duty of psychologists to keep orderly records (No. 567 of 19/05/2017; § 5) psychologists need to keep patient's therapy notes for at least 5 years from the last treatment date.

Other personal data will be deleted when it is no longer necessary to store it in order to comply with legal requirements.
